The bees are dying. And it’s not just the bees. A recent German study found that the total insect biomass has declined by 76% over the last 26 years. As this article points out, nobody knows why it is happening.
What could it be?
Here’s one possible explanation:
The telecoms industry keeps sticking poles in the ground and then attaching powerful microwave ovens to the top of them AKA ‘cell towers’.
I’m not convinced cell towers kill bees. Surely they wouldn’t do that.
Well, people do keep filming bees dropping dead in the vicinity of these cell towers.
And here’s a video of a drone getting fried by a cell tower.
OK, I’m listening….
Here’s a recent study from the Greek island of Samos showing catastrophic insect declines since the installation of 4G and 5G towers. I’ll probably do a separate post on this with an interview with the researcher (and resident) of the island.
But wouldn’t there be universal public outrage if this was happening?
Yes, if people knew it was happening.
Here’s a list of mainstream environmental groups and celebrity scientists who are keeping their traps shut about the whole issue.
WWF
Greenpeace
Greta Thunberg
David Attenborough
Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
The Woodland Trust
BBC Countryfile
Brian Cox
Al Gore
Climate Emergency Fund/ Extinction Rebellion
(If any of these groups have expressed concern please let me know in the comments)
And here’s why the cell towers are there in the first place.
Because you own a cell phone.
I feel shocked and sad. I need some good news.
The good news is you don’t actually need any environmental charities, agencies or celebrities to save the bees (and other critters) on your behalf.
All you need to do is to get rid of your cell phone
This will make the toxic cell towers obsolete while simultaneously driving innovation in the direction of new and environmentally friendly communications technologies instead.
In 1995 people and bees lived in perfect harmony (at least relative to today’s ongoing genocide). So we know it is possible. Also there was a lot less self harming, eating disorders and social anxiety back then too. Everyone was happier and healthier.
We are already starting to see a significant rise in people getting rid of their smartphones just because they want their lives back. If that is not a good enough motivation, just picture a bee being fried like popcorn every time you use your phone.
If the last two years have taught us anything it is that lifestyle changes (and personal sacrifices) are perfectly possible.
Let’s do this.
